Little Miss Sunshine
I just came back from the cinema, and that movie? Rocked my socks off. Seriously. I went into it with no particular expectations, but this might be a new entry into my top 10 movies. I loved every single character - Olive was insanely cute, Frank and Dwayne were wonderfully fucked-up and sarcastic, the father was fantastic in his horrible enthusiasm, the mother was sweet and the grandfather so obnoxious that he was almost cool. I loved the music (I saw later that it was - at least partly? - by DeVotchka, so that explains that.) I loved the camerawork - there were some beautiful shots in there. I loved the morale. I loved the morbid humour. Lovelovelove all around. ♥
Also, when Mary Lynn Rajskub aka 24's Chloe came on screen, Dana, Nora and I squeed SO MUCH. ♥ And when she got to say "Copy that!" I swear we nearly fell off our seats. Sadly we seemed to be the only ones who got it. :| Stupid Germans not watching 24. Yes, I remember that I refused to watch for the longest time as well. Everybody makes mistakes. :-p
Conclusion: Go see it. :X
