I slept badly last night, so I'm struggling to keep my eyes open now. It was terribly humid here yesterday, and everything felt sticky, which is not conducive to sleeping well. Fall is finally creeping up on this part of the country, though, since I've recently been able to keep with the windows open at night. Last week, there was even an entire day that I was able to turn off the air conditioning and just leave the windows open. It only lasted 24 hours, but it's a start. I've had a serious case of the blahs lately, and I always perk up with the arrival of cool, crisp weather, so I'm really looking forward to Fall getting off its tail and making its way here.
I'm still working on my
snape_after_dh fic. ~sighs~ Yes, I know the fest opened on the 15th, but my story wasn't finished, and I was having awful problems with it. Then last night, it occurred to me that I needed to (1) cut one scene entirely because it didn't add anything that couldn't be worked in other places and (2) switch the placement of two scenes. It's flowing much better now, and I'm hoping to finish it up this afternoon. Then it will be back to working on my exchange story.
And found on
neatorama is a perfect example of my life with Smokey the Cat. Some variation of this goes on every morning at my house, usually between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m.:
