[drabble] Misconception

“Go on,” says Yuto excitedly. “Play it!”
Keito blinks doubtfully at the instrument being shoved in his face.
“Ano…” he begins softly. “I…don’t think I can play that.”
“You can play guitar,” insists Yuto.
“But this isn’t a guitar.”
“Close enough!” Yuto wails. “I mean, it’s this curvy shape, it’s got strings, those knobby things at the ends…”
Keito sighs, and makes the mistake of looking away from the instrument into Yuto’s kicked-puppy look and the watery eyes. Instantly, he feels his resolve begin to crumble.
Awkwardly, he takes the instrument and holds it. His hand, holding the bow, draws across the strings fluidly.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
The screech resounds in the empty dressing room, and Keito winces at the sound. Almost as if on cue, the door flies open.
“MY VIOLIN!” Goto wails in horror, and quickly darts forward to rescue said instrument from the clutches of a stunned Keito.
Fujiie’s mutter of “Why are there two kids in our dressing room anyway?” is ignored as Yuto and Keito make a mad dash out, away from a fuming Goto.
That day, Yuto learns the difference between a violin and a guitar.
