But it's been rough to do so, considering I've had a ton of work on my plate, creatively speaking.
Those that don't know, my New Year's Resolution is wrapped up and done. I'm not happy with how it turned out, although I enjoyed being able to play around a bit with certain elements and basically have a written wank off. So, if you've read anything re: Carl and his antics, that's pretty much a dead project. I'm satisfied with it, as it proves that I can do this sort of thing and it's led to working in other ventures.
Presently, I am engaging in a huuuuuuuuge world building project for part of a post-apocalyptic/steampunk world that I've been nattering on and off about since probably about October of last year. School got in the way of doing a lot of serious work on this (although I was able to work on a lot of basic research and compilation, if nothing else!) but I've been able to get one short story finished up. It's sort of a vignette into one of the main characters I plan on using for my story. Background? He's a black market doctor/necromancer with a gun that shoots electricity.
No, it's a little more fleshed out than that. Seriously.
Other than that, I've actually secured summer employment. I'm going to be working as an intern at MTV Canada during the week, and working at a pair of restaurants as a barback ( www.cocatapas.com and
http://www.czehoski.com/ ) So, I can relax on that front.
Not much else to report. I've been reading and writing and keeping to myself. Listening to a lot of Tom Waits, as well as Burial (look them up.) Life's getting far more peachier than it has recently, which is great.
Oh, and the new place is working out fairly well. Had a mama raccoon deposit her babies on our back porch the other night and got to sneak a peek at 2 baby raccoons, which was cool. Fed them some chicken and apples while mom wasn't around.
I'll post some links soon.
