First Entry
This is my first entry. I decided I'd like to let some random, possibly TT students know a bit about my boring life. On August 24th I became an official Texas Tech University student. I'm a freshman thats a Political science major. I'm from the Houston, Texas area and graduated from Bellaire High School. Well enough about my previous life, maybe I'll make some past references, but probably not.
Now to my past few days if anyone cares to read:
I've been taking freshman seminar course before the official school year starts (september 2nd) with Dr. Boyce (some kind of food management professor). Shes really cool but the class is pretty grim. I was expecting a blow over, a free 1 hour if you will, but of course we have about 7 assignments to do over our very short time together. I shouldn't be complaining because its really easy, but im sure any student would agree that any un-necessary work is definitely a burden. I only have 8 more hours of the class, so I'll survive.
Today I picked up a few more of my books, American Public Policy (2302) and Music Appreciation. It's looking good for my teacher selection (thank jeebus for the grade distributions on TECHSIS!) and a very easy semester.
I've been meeting people here and I feel more free to speak which is good. All through highschool I was very timid and I wasn't much of a people person. I still dont feel like I totally belong but its such a huge campus (over 29,000 students) that hopefully I'll find my niche soon enough. I met this guy Rocky that Travis met on the Relapse forum. Hes pretty cool and he bought us lots of booze. I hope to be spending time with my old friends, like Emerson and Freddy, as well as my new friends, Michael, kyle and others. I'm getting excited about my classes coming up, some people might find that funny considering I did the absolute minimum in highschool and slept it up most of the time. I found out one of the Political Science professors here helped right the textbook, too bad I don't have him. So basically, I'm pretty much all geared up. I'm looking forward to all of the people I'm going to meet and the growth spurt my brain is about to have.
