bridge collapse

Aaron and I are ok, as are all the G regulars that I could get a hold of.  I was at work when it went down, and we all went running up to the 9th floor to watch as the emergency vehicles started to arrive on the scene.  Eventually, we  did have to shut down the 9th floor lobby and the endless bridge to keep gawkers from accumulating and overflowing the weight limit on the cantilevers. Spent the evening distractedly running the show to the sound of sirens in the background, fielding and sending texts to all and sundry to check in, when I could manage to get a signal to the network. Finally gave up trying and sent a mass e-mail to the family and far-away friends when got home. It's 4 am and I can't sleep - still pretty shaken up about the whole thing. A lot of my co-workers got off at the exit before the bridge to come to work, right as it was coming down. One took a different route today. It's all a little freaky, how many close calls we had.
