While watching my peers sober up with greasy poisons, I overheard the conversation of the table behind us, and I came to a conclusion:

People who consistently quote movie and television dialogs toward one another lack anything original or important to say. Yes, what Bender or one of those idiots from a Kevin Smith film (those are popular amongst ignorant teens these days, yes?) may have been funny, and perhaps repeatable... but why not discuss the quote itself, the substance behind the writing, or explore a tangent derived from the comment? Because they can't.

Unfortunately, most people don't ever realize the underlying humor of popular culture which is (sometimes) written by intelligent, educated men and women and instead of exploring the different avenues of thought intended by these authors, their fans merely laugh like idiots reciting lines repeatedly, over and over, oblivious to any actual depth to the material. It's not a matter of appreciation, it's a matter of (artistic) impotency. If you find yourself filling conversations (51% or more is composed of) pure recitation, consider two things: 1) Is the person you're talking to any better than a cued DVD, and 2) perhaps such senseless repetition should be left for TBS and its "Three Nights of X", which it hammers into you with encores each night.
