Mini update: meds, squirrels, swimming

Aug 24, 2006 21:56

Apparently my productive and hopeful day on Aug. 21 was also verbose and boring. *chuckle* That's okay, as the main reason I wrote it was to record events that were important to ME!

Tonight's entry will be brief; I'm not even using an LJ-cut. I took my first 37.5 mg. Wellbutrin (bupropion) pill with breakfast today. (For the whole story on why I'm now "on drugs", which actually is pretty interesting, scroll down this page to my Aug 21 entry.) I haven't noticed any effects (good or bad) from it today, but then again, it's very premature for that. I did have an unpleasant flare-up of my acid reflux/GERD, but that's been happening at seemingly random times for years now, so I doubt it has anything to do with the pill. In fact, I believe it all started after I bent over too much after either breakfast or lunch. (Bad me!!)

The rest of today consisted of shopping at Costco (too bad the demo people didn't have their samples read yet), having lunch at home, and having my friend Ina and her beautiful baby daughter Sasha (almost 1) come over so we could go swimming at the pool. My next-door-neighbour (and friend) Lisa and her sons weren't there this time, but Ina, Sasha and I had fun anyway. I spent most of the time in/around the kiddie pool (for obvious reasons) but I also swam some invigorating laps in the big pool. I love swimming!! :D And I love how it always elevates my mood, even though I'm usually in a good mood anyway!

Around dinnertime, who should drop by but Peanut and Goober! Actually I saw Peanut first, and started out by giving her some nuts as usual. My mom joined me outside on the front step (the squirrels know and trust us both). Goober then appeared, almost as if from nowhere, and Peanut started acting nervous. Goober didn't make noises at her or dart at her like he did last week, but their relationship is definitely "strained" compared to how it used to be. :( Anyhoo, between my mom and myself, we managed to give BOTH squirrels their fair share of nuts, apple chunks and cherries, with no "incidents" like last week. I sure love those rodents! :)= Oh, and I'm happy to report that Pea's tail, which once was rather ratty, is getting furrier and fluffier each time I see her. At this rate, it'll be BIG again well in time for winter!
