Well, THAT was a productive, busy weekend!

It's getting close to bedtime so I'll keep this brief. I just wanted to record everything Shawn &/or I got done yesterday (Sunday) & Saturday. :) Not necessarily in order, here they are!

Shawn installed the new BIOS in his new desktop PC's video card.

Shawn replaced the busted drive belt on our trusty old Kenmore gas dryer, which involved a lot of physical work and almost complete dissassembly (disassmbly? disembly?) of the unit. It was quite a rigamarole (I love that word) but it was worth it because he got it working again! I helped a bit, mainly holding the drum and holding the top panel during certain parts of the process so neither of them would fall out or on Shawn.

Shawn tidied up the garage.

I spent quite a while cleaning out the inside of my car of not only crumbs, hair, leaves & the usual "schmutz" but also actual THINGS like an embarrassing accumulation of plastic & paper bags, magazines, mail pieces, pens, etc. *blush* I even used the shop vac!

Shawn and I went to Savers (an awesome thrift store) & donated several bags' worth of stuff (most of it we'd already accumulated but a little bit got added due to the garage & car cleaning outs).

I worked on my freelance editing/proofreading; I currently have a big project going on.

Shawn moved and rehung the smoke alarm.

Shawn put our pet-deterrent "scarecrow" sprinkler system back together in the back yard and got it working again after we thought it got damaged the other day during a nighttime freeze. Thankfully it's working fine again now!

We worked together to decide where to hang outside, and then to hang, our white icicle-style lights (which we've used in prior years) from CVS and our new purple non-icicle style lights (I FINALLY found purple this year! *gleeful skip*) from Target, tho I've also heard you can get true purple lights at Lowe's. Both of our light sets are LEDs, so they use almost no electricity and we can keep them on for longer time periods without feeling wasteful. The white and purple look so classy & so FESTIVE together!

And speaking of holiday festivity, we also decorated our beautiful little tree that has a beautiful long history. I'll have to share some pix later of some of the things I wrote about in this entry, especially the FESTIVE things! ;)
