Better late than never, eh? :"> On Feb. 20, we had our February game, hosted by
beckerbuns (Becky S.) and her rockin' mom Gayle @ Gayle's home. It was a v. big turnout, complete w/ 3 special guests, who'll be revealed under the cut (along with the photos, hee!) Even tho not everyone won something, I think it's safe to say a good time was had by all! I certainly hope so! *hugs*
And now, without further ado -- especially since I'm quite behind in blogging and DREADFULLY behind in reading my LJ friends' blogs -- I will commence with the funny & fun fotos!
OK, before anyone thinks I've lost my mind, "Gladys" is the name of the electonic bingo caller box we use for our games. It didn't come w/ that name, but since it's a female voice, and since most of us find Gladys to be an amusing name, that's the name we use! Hopefully that doesn't offend anyone who has a Great Aunt Gladys! *giggle*
As usual,
sjkat27 (Katheryn) baked and decorated a batch of beautiful and delicious cupcakes! These had a heart theme, since Valentine's Day falls in February.
Another usual thing: my photo of the gift pile! Look at all those wonderful things! :D There were many giftcards and many other great items. I ultimately left the game w/ a $10 Best Buy giftcard -- cool!
My contribution to the evening's snacks was a container of vanilla mini meringue cookies (not really cookies but don't know what to call them -- dollops?). I thought they made excellent bingo card markers, so I took this picture of them. But no, I did NOT actually play the game this way! Teehee!!
Two of the special guests were Becky S.'s sons, Ricky (seen here with Becky S.) and Andrew. Whenever Gayle hosts the game, the boys play also, because then they spend the night at their grandma's house afterwards. Ricky, like his brother, enjoys hamming it up and being silly for the camera. %-D
See what I mean? ;) Here's Andrew hamming it up, along with (clockwise from Roo) Margaret, Jenny, Gayle, Ricky and Becky S. (peeking in the background) and Katheryn.
The same group, with Scary Shari included -- looks like I'm brushing the table w/ my hair, LOL!
And here we have the "kids' table" with, clockwise from left, Becky R. (I covet that purple sweater!), Lila, Lisa and Coleen. Lila was the MOST special guest! She's Gayle's mom from Kansas and happened to be visiting! :) Another note about this pic is that February is Coleen's B-Day month, so she got to play w/ 3 cards instead of 2. Speaking of birthdays, the actual date of this game, Feb. 20, was my dad Al's B-Day, but we celebrated it the next day w/ my aunt and cousins. Feb. 20 also happens to be the B-Day of someone in the now-infamous old bingo group, the Bingo Bitches, which Coleen, Becky R. and I used to be in. (That's not the group's real name, but it's what we all call them! LOL)
Here's the same pic, with Andrew the ham included! :D
Misty, Becky S.'s 2-year-old daughter, was sleeping in a bedroom during the game, but Becky went and got her for this rad "Four Generations" pic.
While taking the bingo pix off my camera's memory card, I noticed that I'd also taken two squeefully cute pix of my rats, Blueberry & Jellybean, on Feb. 20. So I thought I'd share those as well. This is an example of how the boys love to use each other as pillows sometimes when they rest and/or sleep. I think that's Berry on the left and Jelly on the right (too bad his big buck teeth are blurry! *grin*)
And here we have another whiskery shot of Berrykins and Jelly Belly doing the "brotherly love" thing. They were very sleepy and didn't care that Mommy was bugging them with the camera! They are WAY used to that by now! ;) BTW, note the facial tissue and/or toilet paper in these 2 photos. The boys love to line their "nest" (one corner of the cage) with this stuff!!
