Sockdolager!! LOL
I was just curious if anyone has ever heard the word sockdolager? I was just now looking up the word "sociology" in the dictionary, because I wasn't 100% clear on its complex definition, and was trying to decide if that was the correct category for this rather provocative question on Yahoo Answers -- feel free to click the link and answer the question, either at Yahoo or in a comment on this entry. :)
But before I found sociology, my eye happened to randomly alight on the word sockdolager, which I have NEVER heard of in my life, despite being a total word nerd! ;D So now of course I'm curious if anyone else has run into this funny word?? And if so, do you know what it means? (It's not nearly as odd or interesting as its name sounds, LOL!)
