Good thoughts request for my Dad

Hi! Just a humble request for anyone who feels comfortable thinking good thoughts/sending good energies to my dad, Al. It doesn't matter if you're religious, spiritual, or nothing -- to me, the main benefit of thinking/praying for someone is that if the person KNOWS people are doing this, it's EMPOWERING, and that in turn can boost his/her mood and hopefully even boost the immune system. :) I also think there's something to the idea of "energy exchange", but I won't get into that now, except to say I believe some people have a healing energy that others can benefit from.

Anyhoo, as most of you know, my dad has advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and is also advanced in years (85 last month). For the last few days, he's been dealing with either an allergy flare-up (California is in full bloom right now) or a mild cold virus. He hasn't felt sick or achy, and he's in a nonplussed and cheerful mood, all of which is great. :) However, he's had a lot of post-nasal drip and some sneezing. I think his lungs are also making extra phlegm/mucus, because he's clearing his throat and/or coughing so much that it can't ALL be from post-nasal drip! Some of the yuck sounds like it's coming down from his sinuses, but some of it sounds like it's come UP from his lungs! :O

That's what scares the crap out of me and my mom, because his lungs are in such poor shape from the COPD, that they can become a fertile breeding-ground for bacteria. And if he were to get pneumonia or even bronchitis, it would be VERY serious! :( So we're trying to make sure that doesn't happen! He's taking echinacea every day; he takes an antihistimine when his sinuses and nose get extra runny; he gently inhales steam to help him expectorate; and perhaps most importantly -- he's taking the antibiotic Zithromax (azithromycin), because his pulmonologist feels that's the best antibio not only for respiratory bacterial infections, but also for helping PREVENT such infections from starting up in the first place (mainly in folks with COPD).

So, any good thoughts/prayers/energies would be gratefully appreciated! Thank you! *blush* I plan to let my dad read any comments that come in -- I think he'll really enjoy that!! :)

good thoughts, family, dad, health
