Mai-HiME Picspam part2: the angst and the ending.
(warning: even if i tried my best not to reveal the fun surprises,this is the 2nd half of the series and by default everything is very much spoiling.)
poor nao gets framed, and accidentally gets shot in the eye. and she wasen't happy at all, so what does? revenge of course, first going after Mai's younger sick brother Takumi.
Akira saves him for the moment, and while running from Nao, Akira confesses to Takumi he's her most loved person. uh oh. then the mysterious monster from the still unknown HiME shows up too, and Mikoto, who Mai just pushed away after being dumped by Tate and Takumi saying he doesn't need her, shows up and starts fighting basecly everything.
Akira's monster doesn't last much and is defeated. which means bye bye Takumi. Mai finally gets to Takumi when it's too late, and he's already fading in those nifty green lights. it's actually really sad to see Mai so shocked and desperate.
Mai does this really scary face and starts to attack a very confused Mikoto, since she didn't quite grasped yet what the hell happen. Natsuki arrives trying to help, yelling to Mikoto to stop, since she's attacking Mai, who she said she loved so much.
Mikoto finally stops and realizes she does love Mai, but Mai's monster starts to do his fireball that destroys everything ahead against poor Mai's screams. in the end theres just a broken Mai on the rain realizing she lost everything.
well not everything since Tate is still alive, even id giving hope to Shiyo, but eventually he comes after Mai, and a very angry and scary Shiyo turns out to be the mysterious scary monster behind the attacks to Mai. and turns out she's the one that killed Takumi. even so Mai doesn't wanna fight, coz if either of them looses Tate will disappear anyway, but Shiyo doesn't ear, and Mikoto comes by, and thinking she's saving Mai, she does kill Shiyo's monster. So a very desperate Mai try's to kiss him, but he just fades away.
meanwhile, Natsuki is also having a really bad night. she finds out that her mom instead of fighting for her when dying on the accident, she was actually gonna sell her for research. she is now going on a really angsty and rainy scene with her cool bike, but doesn't notice the web that makes her fall off and her bike explode.
it's so sad to see her completely apathetic to seeing Nao over her.
Nao is also not having any fun since Natsuki seems more numb then afraid or mad. but then out of nowhere, Shizuro appears and saves the day. and possibly has one of the coolest poses ever. Shizuro FTW!
on the next day, Shizuro is taking care of broken Natsuki. she tells her she's gonna protect her, and that she likes her (the word suki apparently can mean like in many ways). Natsuki reply's she likes her too. but a really sad Shizuro says when alone "but your 'like' and my 'like' are different". gah. later Natsuki is cute with a puppy. she also tells Shizuro that she tried to call her monster when captured by Nao, but he didn't come. (meaning her reason/most dear person has disappeared).
later, Shizuro finds Natsuki sleeping. she try's to steal a kiss.
but Haruka and Yukino that have been hiding in the bushes looking for Shizuro freak out.
Natsuki meanwhile wakes up from dreaming with a geisha looking Shizuro trying to kiss her, covering her mouth freaking out, but relaxing saying she would never do something like that.
meanwhile she goes where Shizuro and Haruka and Yukino are having a really bad fight, and she ears Yukino saying she saw how Shizuro pretends to be Natsuki's friend but in fact acts differently.
Shizuro sees Natsuki and trys to reach for her face, but Natsuki just jumps away screaming no. and then shizuro just makes a really hurt face. and says she never meant for her to find out about that. and that she really loves her, and she's gonna destroy everything that hurted her.
and then calls out her monster, which doesn't take long to defeat Yukino's one. which means bye bye Haruka, that still headbutts Shizuro before fading. Shizuro then laughs at Yukino crying, and then tells Natsuki to wait for her. looking really scary.
the next day there's a little Natsuki bonding with Mai, which is nice. then they part, Mai going to go fight the Obsidian Lord on Reito's body, now with the clear objective of trying to somehow save and bring their loved ones back. Natsuki says goodbye, and says that she won't be the last one, so it's all up Mai. she then crashes her bike on the students consil room, where Shizuro is very calmly drinking tea like on most eps lol.
Natsuki tells her she can't let her go and kill innocent people. Shizuro states that she will make Natsuki hers. Natsuki then calls her monster, who now is a giant like Shizuro's one, and explains that she finally figured out who her most precious person is, and the biggest is the feeling the strongest is the monster. Shizuro is just distressed coz she mistakes what she said that Natsuki hates her. they fight until Shizuro does this cool move and brings her into her arms. then suddenly Natsuki kisses her, and says that she is thankful that Shizuro loves her, and she loves her too very much, even if it's not on the same way.
then she yells her monster to do her cool finishing move "load silver cartridge!" making a double suicide move with their monsters. she holds covering Shizuro, who just whispers she's content/happy. and they fade away. so fucking angsty!
Mai is fighting Mikoto, but then Miyo shows up and does some sort of reset function on the temple things, that makes everybody that faded away come back. including Tate who fights with the Reito/Obsidian lord. big battle. they defeat the bad guys.
Mikoto then cry's holding Mai, telling her she loves her. then there is a emo scene where Mai cries thinking Mikoto died, but in fact she just passed out with hunger.
happy ending starting now: Mai and Tate are on a picnic in the park, and cue to the finally romantic kiss, but Mai pushes him down.
because on the brushes there is their friends taking pics lol and Akane fangirling and in the background there's her Khun-chan. and then there's Shyio looking very unamused, who then tackles Tate and beats him up with her hair lol.
then Mikoto jumps down from a tree, and Mi grabs her clothes very fast so her underwear don't show, while Akane covers her Khun-chan eyes lol. Main then notices that Mikoto is finally wearing a bra, that aparently Natsuki gave her from her vast collection.
Reito (meanwhile unpossessed) arrives and asks if Mai would go on a date with him then, but Mikoto just glomps her saying that Tate and her brother can quit, coz Mai is hers.
meanwhile Natsuki is saying she might go on a trip, but she gets crushed because her attendance isn't enough to graduate so she needs to repeat the classes. Shizuro shows up saying that maybe she shouldn't graduate either lol.
oh btw, Alissa, Miyo and Nao are now nuns who scare off girls lol, and the original Nun is actually pregnant lol.
the gang all groups up and Mai reads the post card from Midori, who's now going all Indiana Jones with her professor.
also from Takumi who is in America, after his cirgury that went very well. while besides him Akira is cutting fruit with her ninja skills lol. meanwhile Haruka is preparing yukino to be in charge. lol.
Mai finally reveals what her most precious thing is: Karaoke! and so they all go do that.
the final shot of Shizuro glomping Natsuki is priceless. also Natsuki is looking not amused but doesn't freak out like anytime someone before tryed to get close of her goods lol.
THE END. lol honestly the end would probably be considered lame and fanservesing by most animes, but you get so attached to the characters that after all the angsty scenes with they dying or just being broken, you really wish for the reset final mode. because Mai-HiME has the best comedy ever lol.
