Here is a link to a 12 minutes piece of the 200 ep celebration for Stargate that was aired on SPACE. It is awesome. Everyone is interview. Great stuff from RDA, MS, AT, CJ, BENB, BEAUB & CB.http://www.benbrowderportal.

(Yeah, I know, very old entry, but...)

And she is a Stargate fan as well! How awesome. That was my first fandom where I discovered fanfictions (both reading and writing) and conventions and doing music videos and everything. I had no idea. And I wasn't even a sci-fi fan, I only checked it out because of Richard Dean "MacGyver" Anderson. Then it all blew me away.

I was so sad that it ended with so much hate and fighting between the fans, and for years I didn't even look at my DVDs but had moved on to "Doctor Who" and "Torchwood". But back in May, at the biggest European convention Fedcon, they had indeed Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks together. That has never happened before in the world. Here is my picture with the three of them:

And ever since, I am doing a rewatch of all the seasons and realize again why I used to love this show so much. Sometimes you just need a break.

I also dug out some of my old videos and they were so kind to air them at the big screen, and Rick, Amanda and Michael even saw them - well, kinda, they were in a different room and the music was off and they were a bit confused - I had put English subtitles to the German song which they of course would not know. Someone was so kind to give me a few pictures of this:

Sorry for rambling, I'll shut up now.

Thanks for commenting!!! You are so lucky to get to see them all at once!!

I have seen them each individually but seeing them together must have been Awesome. I have heard great stories about their on stage chemistry. :)

I don't think I have ever had a break from Stargate. It is airs here in Canada(SG1 & Atlantis), 5 days a week on SPACE - our SCI-FI channel.

The chemistry is indeed there. Even after all those years. Although, Michael did not say much, he was mostly busy laughing about Rick's antics LOL Amanda was the only one at least trying to reply to a question once in a while when she wasn't giggling herself. Nevertheless, it was a great show.

If you have a bit of time, someone did a thorough report, I collected all the links here: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/107685.html
(sadly, filming is not allowed at European conventions. I am so happy that I can watch videos of American conventions at youtube)

I have been twice to Vancouver also for Stargate conventions, and to see the original filming locations of course. Before, I only went to cons in Germany, and I have seen almost everyone there, they all came to Germany. Aside from Fedcon, they were much smaller - only four, five guests and about 200 fans. They loved it. They danced with us in the evening at parties and even had breakfast together with us the next morning. Much familiar and relaxed.

I also have been in 2006 to the very first con with RDA ever. As he always said he would never do any. And he was so shy back then! This is my picture from that one - don't mind the ugly looking person in the middle, when you have two such beautiful people to look at: http://s137.photobucket.com/user/DieAstra/media/Avalon%202006/RickAmandaich-klein2.jpg.html

Amanda was there to literally hold his hand and help him and you could see what good and close friends they are. Then apparently he liked it so much, you can't get him off the stage anymore LOL

Well, I guess you can have too much of a good thing, and overdose yourself. And I like discovering new stuff, the rush when you are excited about something. But I always come back to my fandoms as well after a while and I still do funny pictures with my action figures. It's also on repeat on some channel or the other in Germany, but I do have my DVD boxes, I can watch what and when I want. And in English, I only watch in English nowadays. German TV usually is dubbed.
