Went to Wedding Show at NEC on Saturday with Em & Anne. Gosh. I have rarely seen such concentrated girlyness. The only men in the entire place were staff on the various stalls, all rigged out in groom regalia. Em displayed a certain interest in those in kilts...

There really is no upper limit to the amount you can spend on a wedding if you have the moolah. As an example I point to the chocolate fountain, with gilded fruit and candies to dip, presided over by a uniformed chef - yours for £900 per hundred guests.

Unfortunately the experience has only deepened my confusion regarding wedding clothes. A tiara of wonderousness (all autumn berries and leaves, fabulous stuff), was entirely outside my budget at £200, but made it clear that I really do want to be all roman goddess type bride. But the dresses I have tried on that have really suited me are much more Victorian bustle and corset. This is not helping! I fear that if I go for what I want, rather than what looks fantastic on me, then I shall fail to knock ellistar dead on the day. And I am told that this is what the groom wants above all else.
