Having just read back over my previous entries I feel the need to update my journal on the subject of sitting for trance. Anyone is welcome to read this, but it is actually just for me so when I look back I know how we had progressed as this stage.
My last entry on this subject was 7th April, and reading it I am surprised by how much we have progressed.
ellistar particularly is doing extremely well. He goes under almost instantly, and a series of people clearly move through him. His face changes utterly, and my personal acid test is "could I hug him?"; if my instinctive reaction is "no" then he is not Jem at that time. He is not yet talking; this appears to be one of the hardest things to acheive without breaking out of trance, but it surely won't be long now. In a 20 minute sitting I now see 3 or 4 people pass through him - I wonder whether they are searching for the best fit to try to speak, or whether this is just our trance circle all wanting a go - certainly they all look intensely happy to be coming through. Jem is semi-conscious throughout, and is well aware every time someone new moulds his face like plasticene.
I am going a little more slowly. I used to leave completely - I don't trust myself not to mentally influence the proceedings and don't want to be lured into believing that things are happening when they are not. Therefore I used to deliberately "settle down" into a state similar to sleep so that they could work without my interference. In the last month or so this has been impossible, and suspect that Spirit are not allowing me to disclaim responsiblity in this way. I find myself (just like
ellistar) sticking around whether I will it or not, and feeling someone move carefully into my space. It takes me 10-15 mins to get to the stage of having someone comfortable enough to try to move my mouth. This is always preceded by a wriggling sensation in my ear that I associate with the arrival of a controller. Once or twice I have felt them leave and then left a second wriggling sensation in the other ear to herald the arrival of another person.
We are currently at 9 months of sitting once every week.
