One evening I went to the Mercedes-Benz museum. It's a nice looking place that shows the history of Mercedes brand along with some motorcar history. The place looks nice from the outside:

The idea of the museum is quite nice - you take the elevator to the top floor, and walk down, looking at the artifacts and exhibitions inside. It starts from some history. For example, one of the first (or first) internal combustion engines:

Gas engine:

This is a 2.4 litre engine that produced 6 horse powers. The next picture is the info note:

First "horseless carriages"

Old, but cars, not carriages:

Old luxury cars:

Mercedes also produced (mostly before the WWII) airplane engines:

Dashboard of a fancy car

From one of the floors you can see the Mercedes testing track. You can see sometimes cars zooming by there:

Just a car

Safety. You can see the crush test dummies on the first picture. On the second picture you can see a vapor rocket that was used to accelerate the cars to the desired speed:

Old racing cars:

This car was very fast - it reached more than 200 km/h (212, I reckon). It has a 20 litre engine

Alfa Romeo:

Formula 1 racing suit:

Formula 1 car (probably replica):

There was a simulator there. It moves around and all. It cost 4 EUR. Unfortunately, I left my wallet in a locker downstairs, so I didn't have any money with me. I would've tried.

And some more racing cars:
