::what are you thankful for, anyway?

*Buddy Nielsen (Senses Fail)
I, Buddy Nielsen, am thankful for the same thing Daryl Palumbo from Glassjaw/Head Automatica was thankful for last year. It was Daryl who said, "DVD porn," right? But the runner-up to that is being able to do what I love from day to day: writing music, playing in front of fans and touring with some of the best people I've ever met. I'm thankful that I have the support of people around me to be able to go ahead and do it. Not many people can say that about what they do and feel certain that they're on the right path. It's nice to be able to do what you love, and for me that's playing music. Altogether, that is what I'm thankful for this year!

*Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup)
The other day, I was walking through Foley's and noticed that they had taken out all the luggage and replaced the entire section with Christmas decor. Weird - it gets earlier and earlier each year. So I thought, "What am I thankful for?" The best answer would be family, friends, the Ramones - you know the drill. But I decided to go with "food with a handle;" nachos, pizza, ice-cream cones...Let's all just be thankful for things we can eat that would either be really messy, or require a utensil of sorts. Yeah, that is what I am thankful for. Chips are just a way to get cheese in your mouth without burning your fingers...

*Jesse Johnson (Motion City Soundtrack)
I'm thankful for video games, new phones, glow-in-the-dark toys and free shows.

*Ben Perri (From Autumn To Ashes)
This Thanksgiving is going to be a whole different day for me, and I am thankful for so many things in my life. I am going to be spending Thanksgiving in Germany with my band, who make each day worth waking up for. And I would not be here waking up without my parents gettin' down 27 years ago, or if it weren't for all the amazing friends I have made during the course of my life. And, last but not least, a whole bunch of people and inanimate objects that help me get through my day: NYC, Lucy, tour buses, A. Tizzle, Jeremy and K Dubs, Atticus clothes and Macbeth shoes, GGGath and friends, JD, coffee, John Kerry, iPod, being poor but happy, and last but not least, all the amazing fans that we have all over the world. Without you and your undying support, I would not be doing this what-I-am-thankful-for list in this wonderful magazine. Have a great holiday season, and I will see you all next year.
