Philippines, seriously, get your act together.
No, not Filipinos. The country. The land. The sovereign will (if there is actually one). Yes, La Filipinas. It's you who should get your act together. Less than a week from now, it's going to be (oh, hey, yawn) election day again. You think you're doing a good job by advocating this widespread act of

I'm actually torn between Gibo and Dick. Both are smart, articulate, and have clear grasp of what is necessary. I'm not saying they're better, but I'm pretty tired of hearing motherhood statements like, "Mahal ko ang Pilipinas." or "Galing akong mahirap." et al.
It's tiring hearing the same shit over and over again. I'm not saying the aforementioned two are way better. I'm just all for feasibility. Of course, one may argue that everything's feasible and all that but I'm for people who answer straight when asked about *how* feasible it is. So far, those two candidates up there think along the specifics and that is why I'm all for them. It's not much to go along with, I know, but nothing's really certain here. Personally, I don't have any dreams of any of them reaching a perfect grade in my perspective, but there are certain things I deem as standards and those two have addressed most of these (and I'd rather keep those standards to myself).

More and more candidates refuse to answer to the negative and instead go on and prattle about what can be done. Of course we know what can be done. We're the ones who need it. What we need is a clear sense of how things should be done. You don't go on and say (for example) "Ibababa ko ang tax etc." and not follow through with your plan. And if you present a plan, present a plan that does not conflict with your other plans.

I once had a conversation with a friend who's running for governor here in CN, Winnie Oco, and I asked him what this country needs. He said he dare not visualize that scope. But he knew what his *region* needed. Roads and logistics. He never bothered adding to those, and I saw why. Bias aside, there is sense in seeing that roads will enable agriculture to move here and will enable jobs. The rest goes downhill from there.

I think what I'm trying to say here is that I'd rather vote for a person a lot of people (seemingly) don't support or even identify, just as long as that person manages to have an idea of what needs to be done.
