PAL/ NTSC ignorance and mad March hair-pulling.

March seems to have gone by pretty quickly - which may be a good thing, as it has been a little rough in places!

Since I last posted on here, I succumbed to temptation and bought myself a new computer after getting fed up of the old one to arrive. It was rather fortunate that I did, as the old one finally got here bashed and broken after it's four-month ordeal.
Most of my other belongings survived okay, although I have made the vexing discovery that UK videos do not play in the USA. So I have a very sizeable film collection that's only feasible use is to take up shelf space or get broken up to provide shiny spools of tape for the cat to play with. I think it is possible in theory to get equipment to play them here but from what I can see, it is prohibitively expensive and I may as well resign myself to replacing them with DVD like most sensible people did about a decade ago...

Now I have my own computer again, I have fallen predictably back into my bad habits and my adiction to the evil online role-playing game, Guild Wars. My fun-loving lesbian alter ego Katrina (leader of the guild 'Heroic Order', or 'ho' for short) has been reunited with her fifty faithful followers dotted across the globe, who remain blissfully unaware that in real life she does not resemble Beatrice Dalle after all.

Back in the real world, H and I have each been struggling a bit with the depression bugbear, which has been quite a strain. Especially as we both tend to feel that it's our fault if the other one gets down, and Nine Inch Nails album titles start springing to mind.
H's job has been wearing her down a *lot* ... having to get up at 5am and often not returning home until after 5pm is pretty harsh. Although when I asked how long she had been feeling so low, the timespan coincided exactly with the time since we have been married, so maybe I *am* totally to blame, heh.
