I've Been In A Summer-y Mood...

... so I have been trying to track down songs for summer.

Here's what I have found so far:

The new album by - Forever The Sickest Kids - "Underdog Alma Mater" is one of the best debut's I have ever heard. I had purchased their demos, but the changes made to the old songs in combination with all the fantastic new songs made it a must own. There is maybe 1 quasi-filler song out of 14. Now that is superior quality, indeed. This album is going to own my playlists all summer long.

I have decided that I like Angels & Airwaves' album "I-Empire" and I'm right. Didn't need to buy the whole thing, though. Paring it down to "Secret Crowds", "Everything's Magic", "Lifeline", and "Breathe" was wise. *pats self on back* Still not a fan of their first album though. It just doesn't grab me.

I also gleaned a couple of great songs off of The JV Allstar's album "Take Me Back To Spectre". The songs titled "On A Quest To Save The Princess", "Straighten Your Hair", and "Where The Sidewalk Begins" are high quality standouts.

I have given the band Anberlin more chances than I have given most bands, but the only song that does anything for me is "The Unwinding Cable Car". It is, nevertheless, a fantastic song. So... at least there's that.

I love songs that make me want to get in my car and speed aimlessly down the highway with my windows down on a warm summer day.

These songs get me there.

What have you found?
