He calls John Kennedy a drug addict, Lyndon Johnson a war-monger, and Bill Clinton a seducer.
And then has the gall to say that people only focus on the negatives of Nixon's career?
I mean, I agree that Nixon did some good things, and I know he did some bad thigns. But if an arsonist starts a fire, and then saves a kitten from the flames, do you call him a hero?
I know what you mean, but "Watergate" took on such a huge meaning, that Nixon's name, after his cover-up, couldn't help but become synonymous with corruption and scandal.
What's fucked up is that nobody who didn't live through it has no idea who Haldeman is, or, G. Gordan Liddy, or what exactly Nixon did wrong.
Maybe he'll get a better fate as time goes on. As people who hated him fade away, his presidency will be looked at objectively.
But obstructing justice, perjury, and basic deceivery? Not cool. In that respect, I suppose Clinton can be analogous.
He covered up a crime. Though all politician's lie, not all commit crimes and lie about them.
Furthermore, Nixon wasn't impeached. They didn't have time to. He resigned before they could, namely because he didn't want to be convicted of anything. And he wasn't. Ford pardoned him when he took over.
being impeached doesnt kick you out if you are impeached then the have hearings and vote to decide if they want to kick you out Clinton was impeach as well
Basically everything he said. You don't break into the headquarters of your major rival political party for leads on their positions. That kind of stuff happens in poser democratic countires, countries that are led by a major political party with one small rival who will never overcome the other. It can't happen in America, because it's "communist".
