Oh, great! I really like the first parts - the way you characterize Andromeda, Narcissa and Bellatrix is lovely. It feels very spot on, their differences, their reasoning, all of it.

How come I've never seen this recced before? I was updating the blackcest_ML when I noticed the Bells For Her lyrics.

This is beautiful -the writing impeccable, the storyline realistic and it all so recognisable, so true, so gorgeous.

the way he looked upon Bella as an equal

:)

They have a sense of wonder that we’ve lost.

Yes, I can see Meda saying that.

throwing a brotherly arm around his daughter and saying she would find a worthy man in time, and for now, why be hasty and marry her to someone unworthy? She had beauty enough, and spotless breeding, and there was no rush, no rush at all.

Oh, how beautiful.

For this, I'm friending you (if you don't mind).

"Bells for Her" seems to be the unofficial theme song of the Black sisters, lol. I realized, after I'd already finished this, that one of the first Bella/Meda fics ever written was called Bells for Her. It just fits so well, though...

Thank you so much for the lovely comment. I'll add you back, too. ♥

(Heh. And of course, that root word "bell" also has connotations of war, in Latin. Bellus may be beautiful, but bellum is war and the Romans always did worship the terrible beauty of war, didn't they? Bella would appreciate that, methinks.) This is gorgeous. Those sisters are so very fascinatingly messed up and I am in awe at how perfectly you paint these two.

*nods* Exactly. I've heard that the name "Bellatrix" actually means "warrior woman," even though her nickname is "Bella" or beautiful, and that was kind of what I was playing with here. Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked their messed-upness.

I wouldn't be surprised. The Roman goddess of war was Bellona, after all, and the Italian "belladonna" (yes, the poisonous herb) means beautiful lady, so if it's not a straight Latin translation, it might be Italian. The meanings of the parts of her name, I mean.

Their messed-upness is absolutely fascinating and gorgeous in a kind of scary way. You write them so well! I'm in awe.
