“If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about.” Gerard Way
Can't say I'm a fan of My Chemical Romance myself but I think the man has a point.
“When people hear good music, it makes them homesick for something they never had, and never will have.” Edgar Watson Howe
Sorry, I'm being distracted by quotes about music.
The Pagan gathering on the weekend was great. Really good atmosphere and wonderful people. Our parents said they would have loved to have come along but they were both busy. So it gave me time to spend with James. (Yeah, because I hardly ever see the guy, what with living in the same house and being in the same band and everything.)
There was a really nice girl there around my age and we got to talking about sexuality. She was a lesbian too and had just come out to her family on two counts: being both a lesbian and a witch. They didn't take it very well. Turns out she lives not too far from me so we're going to go out and get lunch or something.
I've been locked away in my room since I got back on Sunday afternoon and I think James is starting to look at me like I'm a mad scientist. That's okay. I feel like a mad scientist. But there are projects I must get working on harder. I feel like I'm trying to solve things no one has ever solved before. Makes me feel both very clever and very stupid at the same time.
I must go visit Renee soon. But I have to work on other things first.
