Oh yeah. And I had two cups of that Jamacian Blue Mountain coffee. That shit is GOOD. They made it in an espresso machine just for it.
ON Bec Fin--the room was really beautiful, it gave me a little perspective on how Versailles might have been too (I always thought Versailles was yucky when I was there). The service was polite (and thankfully French-paced, i.e., if you needed something you got it, if not they were fine with dinner taking four hours), if not as good since we weren;t there to write a major paper review this time. The food, though--excellent, of course.
But for half the price at the other "best" restaraunt in the city, you can get food half again as good (the Fountain at the Four Seasons). HOwever, I will say that I left Bec Fin totally relaxed and happy--I would have to say that once in a lifetime it is worth the experiance.
Oh, and the chief waiter dude was from Orleans, and we chatted a bit (en francais). He asked me if I was French. Probably sucking up, but sweet nonetheless.
