Guys, I've had the NCIS marathon in the background and keep seeing the promo for White Collar... and I can only bust out laughing at it.

Nate and Sophie would eat that kid for breakfast.

(By the by, what kind of criminal mastermind gets caught twice?)

Hypothetically, the Leverage crew are the "notorious and elusive" sort this kid and his FBI babysiter would go after, except the team is operating on a whole other plane of existence. Say our team happens to be targeting the same bastard as this kid. In the process, they have to jerk the kid around without his knowledge... perhaps a little more than is strictly necessary because Nate is bored and annoyed.

Of course Nate has been doing his loud and obnoxious routine the whole time. At the end of the job, he pays the kid a visit... Nate starts off loud and obnoxious, then puts on the kid's hat and drops character at the same time. (The general effect here is Nate Ford can be a scary son of a bitch.) He offers a critique of the kid's abilities and ends with "you should be more careful, someone could get hurt."

I can't decide if Nate should leave with the hat or toss it in the trash on his way out.

(This is the source of my new conviction that whenever you lay into someone you should conclude with "and come back when you can wear a hat, son.")

Related: one should not let one's lead wear a hat when he clearly does not know how to.

On how to wear a hat, see Tim Hutton. In fact, on how to Wear Clothes see Tim Hutton.

...I may have to do a follow up here on how to Wear Clothes.
