A long way back, there was a personal canon meme going around, and
I did it for CSI:NY. Earlier today,
pegasuspup asked if I'd ever do it for NCIS or SGA, and I said I'd think about it.
Clearly I didn't have to think very long.
personal canon
ncis
1. Tony flirts with everyone, so he’s only half-aware that he has the biggest damn crush on Tim.
2. Tim doesn’t think he’s that good of a writer. His prose isn’t bad, and he can put together a story. He knows that real life is messy, and he knows how to clean it up and put it into a nice comprehensible narrative. But it’s not art.
3. If Tony, Abby, and Ziva knew that, they’d all think Tim was selling himself short. They might not say it directly, but they’d try to let him know. But they also separately tell themselves, well, what do they know about literature.
4. Gibbs can’t quite bring himself to read Tim’s books. He doesn’t really want to see himself reflected like that. He’s not a hero. He’s just a man who believes in his job.
5. Tim has finally caught on to the fact that Tony’s half-in-lust, half-in-love with him, but he’s not ready to do anything about it.
6. Abby caught on that Tim and Tony are attracted to each other about a million years ago, and she’s torn between thinking it’s totally hot and totally adorable.
7. Abby and Tim were so easy together. The reason they broke up is that, even though they loved each other, they worked better as just friends. The sex was fine but nothing special. (Even though Tim has a serious kinky side.)
8. Abby has a little bit of a crush on Ducky. She wouldn’t ever do anything about it because, y’know, he’s technically old enough to be her grandfather, and he would probably be weirded out. But he’s just so awesome.
9. Ducky has many more skills then he might display in the morgue. Some of those skills are deadly. That is all decades in the past, but one night, over some nice bourbon, he told Gibbs about it.
10. As straight as Gibbs is, and as much as he does love women, he recognizes that after Shannon died, his best and most lasting relationships have been with men. Ducky. Fornell. Hell, even Tony.
11. Gibbs knows that Kelly wouldn’t have grown up to be like Abby, but he thinks, he knows, he believes that Kelly would have grown up to be as good a person.
12. Abby will never fill the hole that Kelly left in Gibbs’s life, but he does love Abby like another daughter.
13. In retrospect, and subconsciously, Gibbs wishes he hadn’t given Jen such a hard time when she became director, but he still can’t quite admit this to himself.
14. Part of Tony hated Jen for everything that happened with Jeanne. That’s why he hated himself even more after Jen died.
15. One night during the summer that Gibbs was gone, after Jen had told Tony everything she was expecting from him, they had a slow, alcohol-drenched, one night stand.
16. When Ziva and Jen met in Egypt, they ended up having fantastic adrenaline-fueled sex.
17. For a long time, Ziva felt the hole that Kate left in the team. Part of her felt like she couldn’t fill that hole, and she relentlessly cut that part out of herself.
18. Okay, yes, Ziva has a little crush on Tony because he’s just so damn amusing and irritating and amusing, and she’s kind of irritated with herself for it. She’d consider a one night stand if they didn’t work together, but she’d never actually date him. Tony is just someone you don’t date.
19. Ziva thinks she will never forgive her father. One reason she’s so determined to stay with NCIS is that she’s afraid if she goes back to Israel she will end up forgiving her father.
20. Kate watches them and watches out for them, from wherever she is now.
Hm. I should probably write NCIS fic at some point, y/y?
