I was cruising the user-made "best music of 2007" lists on Amazon and came across Hayward Williams - Another Sailor's Dream. Check out the sample clips; it seems to have a good acoustic folk-country-blues sound to it.
And, y'know, he earned serious bonus points with me by covering "Thunder Road."
(In all honesty, I'm sort of preparing for my trip to Amoeba music this weekend when I'm visiting stellaluna-. Two and a half days now!!!)

edit, the second Seriously, seriously, Cat Power's coming out with a new album of covers tomorrow? And a sampler of the new Magnetic Fields was playing when I went into Criminal the other day for the new Jens Lekman, which I should've waited and saved my money for Amoeba, and there's a new Mountain Goats album coming out in February? And... and...
