The return of the Jays!
A couple of weeks ago, I lamented the cutting of limbs from the giant fir tree outside my living room window. I fretted that the Steller's Jays that I love to watch might not return. Well, tonight, whilst eating dinner, I noticed a larger-than-usual bird flash past my window and land on the spine of the neighbor's roof. It turned its head to one side, and what did I see but the distinctive crest of a Steller's Jay! They're back! This big fellow looked from side to side, and then swooped across into the big tree. I couldn't be happier. Yay!
