Oh, I know that anxiety is a natural part of this process. But ever since my hellacious 4.5 months at Cingular and the following 8 months of recovery time, the manifestation of anxiety around this process has become full-blown anxiety attacks every time I work on revising the resume or look at job listings for any significant period of time: tears, hyperventilating, the works. Just talking about it with e_bourne yesterday provoked tears. This is Not Good in all the ways such things are Not Good. That's why pushing through all this is so hard for me. It's the one place where my resolve gets substantially shaken every single time. I hate it.

I gotta say: Seattle's been a great experience for me in many ways, but it's been extremely hard on me in terms of my employment experience. If there was one thing I could change about the last 14 years, it would be that.

Here's hoping the new job situation, whatever it may be, does come with a minimum of fuss/stress, just as my current one did. That would go a long way to putting this reaction to bed. I really could use that in the long run.
