I'm hired!
This morning's interview was with the man who is my boss-to-be's boss. Basically, he wanted to look me in the eye and see that I understood that the job I was coming into was high-pressure and that I was okay with that. What I realized, thinking this whole idea over the last few days, is that high pressure is different at every company. But I've dealt with it before and, being older now, I have a better handle on how to deal with that sort of thing in the workplace.
As we talked, I also realized that the change in job description I'd been presented with actually offered me more variety than the original job description. And as it turns out, I'll eventually end up doing that orginal job toward the end of the year.
The people seem friendly and smart and obviously like what they do. I don't get any of the weirdo vibes I got from my last supervisor during the interview process, which is a goodness.
So it looks like, after a few formalities, I'll be starting this new job the last Monday of the month. Yay!
