Written for sdwolfpup's More Joy Day. Some of these prompts turned into ficlets because, frankly, what's the point of trying to contain the joy in 100 words?

Title: The Joy of Deception
Pairing: Ten/Jack
Rating: G
Spoiler: Spoiler for S4
A/N: Written for cheesygirl and the Prompts of Joy

Summary: The Doctor's on the run but there's a price to pay for sanctuary. Hee!

“Jack, quick. Lock the bloody door!” The Doctor burst through the doors of Jack's office, eyes wild and hair more unruly than usual.

Jack continued signing the expense reports that threatened to overtake his desk.

“Ianto!” he called, without looking up. “Code three!”

“Sir!”

Jack hid a grin at the naked fear in Ianto’s voice.

As the team scrambled to secure the premises, Jack finally looked at the Doctor.

“What did you do this time?”

“I may have, accidentally, sort of, said she might want to take care with the Enstrullian pastries. Of course I meant that their molecular structure degenerates after five hours and they become highly combustible,” he said, his voice rising in indignation. “And no one wants to tangle with a highly combustible pastry.”

“So, you said she was fat and now you’re hiding here like a little girl,” Jack said with a slow grin.

Abashed, The Doctor nodded.

Sliding around the desk Jack approached the Doctor with a predatory gleam. “Remember what I said the last time you endangered my team with the wrath of Donna Noble?”

The Doctor swallowed as Jack’s hand cupped his face before sliding into his hair.

“I said there’d be a price,” Jack growled as he pulled him into a kiss.

The Doctor let himself sink into Jack’s warmth. As the kiss deepened The Doctor congratulated himself. Amazing what a little pastry could do.
