Dr Sketchy's scientific sketchorama: FOR SCIENCE!

Nov 05, 2011 22:38

The most recent Dr Sketchy was held at MOSI, there was beer and a man in a sumo suit to explain science. It was quite a challenging session in terms of getting proportions right for both of the models, but thoroughly enjoyable.

First up was body builder Paul George, who has modelled for Dr Sketchy's before.

Starting with some quick sketches:

The Vitruvian Man:

'Skinless' drawing (drawing this reminded me of the Wellcome collection's Skin exhibition last year), plus a little bit of pass-the-pad in the bottom left corner:

Atlas (carrying a lithium atom):

Following a break, we moved on to the second model, Iona the contortionist who started off with a shrt performance. Wow. Starting off with some more short sketches:

Some slightly longer sketches

Following another break we went back to Paul George for some longer drawings:

And the last one. I'm pleased with the legs and foot in this :D
