Hurrah! Today is my birthday and what a lovely sunny day. It's the first time since moving nto my new house that I've wanted to open the windows. Imagine my dismay on discovering I've squirreled away the window keys somewhere so safe I can't find them.
In a distinctly Nanan fashion I spent yesterday hunting for antiques in Lincolnshire. I had a fabulous time and got a good haul. Despite the continued presence of the woodchip it's nice to see my house finally taking on a bit more of my personality.
I bought:
- beautiful persian rug for my dining room
- pair of thirties dining chairs with mustard upholstry
- wooden chair with arm rests. Art deco style
- framed alice in wonderland print for my kitchen. Upset to find the wall I want to hang it on cannot be penetrated by nails. Have seriously fucked up the paintwork trying
- framed religious/sacred heart engraving
- big wooden crucifix for my bedroom. A bit kitsch perhaps but it goes with the South American catholic theme I'm going for in there
- 2 cushions - 1 mustard art deco one, the other a circular black one with embroidered birds
I'm very happy but also quite skint now.
