Today I discovered I have done something incredibly stupid. Possibly the stupidest thing I have ever done. I'm actually too embarrassed to admit it just yet but can anyone offer a prime example of their own stupidity to cheer me up? if it's as bad or worse I'll admit mine ( Read more... )

Glad to hear it :) It's some comfort to me to realise episodes of stupidity soon graduate into funny story territory. I'm almost there with this one, not quite.

I should probably add that it was a 'short-bus' type ambulance, not an emergency vehicle. And there was some poor bewildered guy in the back who was very much confused whilst the ambulance crew made sure i didn't move until two more ambulances and a police car had arrived. I was holding out for the coastguard as well, but i guess they must've been too busy to come and laugh at me.

now you've added your shame to the original post, I must admit that the only reason i was having to take the damn bike test in the first place was because of the same clerical oversight you made. go me. *blush*

Hurrah! You have succeeded in making me feel better - go you indeed :D I hope your experience doesn't set a precedent for me to have an embarrassing crash when I retake mine ;p

i'd blanked most of the story out of my memory. that's why it's in installments, as the true horror re-unfolded in my mind.

I'm sure you'll be fine, no-one can possibly be as unlucky as I am sometimes ;)

That really was bad luck. I found £20 I didn't know I had in my pocket last night en route to the pub so I'm hoping that's the start of a streak of good luck to get me back to equilibrium. If I end up getting a first for my degree (unlikely but I can hope!) I will totally attribute it to the universe redressing the luck balance ;)
