It's that time again!
What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
This is so whatever, but I've never been into perfume. This year, I sniffed magazine ads for DKNY Be Delicious Eau So Intense and Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy and decided to indulge in some scents! Turns out it's kinda nice to spritz on something pretty. :)
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I just make 'em up as I go along, like always!
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yep - my cousin and her husband welcomed an adorable baby girl earlier this year!
Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness!
What countries did you visit?
Er, Solomons Island, MD was the furthest I traveled this year, haha!
What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
I'd like a bangin' body, please. Well, maybe not bangin'; but something somewhere near that. Okay, so I'm never gonna be a model, but ya know. In any case, gonna be working hard on both looking and feeling good 'n' happy this coming year.
What date(s) from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
When Megaupload went down for good early this year, it was a sad day.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Good grades, I suppose! They're always nice to get. :)
What was your biggest failure?
Aw, everything's a learning experience, in my opinion!
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing like last year, whew! It's all good.
What was the best thing you bought?
Music, as always; magazines - I'm addicted to music/pop culture and fashion/beauty mags; and makeup odds 'n' ends.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
My family - no particular reason. They're just awesome.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mostly stuff during the election - it was sad when Romney seemed to be getting somewhere in the polls, because it made me imagine him in the White House, and that wasn't cool. On the goofier side of political things, it was bizarre seeing Clint Eastwood talk to a chair. I mean, what.
Where did most of your money go?
Magazines, haha! Bought way too many.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
There wasn't any big thing I got hyped up about, but there were a lot of little fun things.
What song will always remind you of 2012?
"Call Me Maybe," of course, but especially "Gangnam Style." Also, anything Lana Del Rey.

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Music blog-writing, as usual! And I wish I'd listened to more new music - I tended to listen to a new release and keep going back to it, instead of trying out new tunes. So now, as I'm writing up my countdown lists for my music blog, there are still tons of 2012 albums and singles that I haven't listened to yet. (January is typically a slow month for new tunes, so I'll catch up then!) It's not a huge deal: it's just there are so many albums that I wanted to hear but didn't have a chance to check out, and that makes me frown.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Magazine-buying! Lol nope, I regret nothing.
How did you spend Christmas?
Fam, ham, and just chillin'.
What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2012?
I managed to stay classy all year long, actually!

Family Guy. It's so goofy.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Polished? Idk, I just try to look nice. :)

Out Of The Vinyl Deeps (a collection of music critic and feminist Ellen Willis' essays/reviews) is awesome.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Though I got into Lana Del Rey at the tail-end of 2011, I fell hard for her sound this year. Good stuff.
What did you want and get?
Lots of good things (like music and magazines)!

Nothing!
What was your favorite film of this year?
I loved Wreck-It Ralph, but I really enjoyed The Avengers. I didn't go into seeing it with huge expectations - like, I thought it would just be fun blockbuster fluff (which it was, somewhat) - but it was actually really good. Also, this was nice. So was this.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
26, whoa! Saw a movie and had a good dinner - nice!
What three things would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
1. More 2. music 3. and magazines
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Guuuurl, lemme tell you about this fine specimen that I'm not sure if anyone else thinks is fine and who is just old and craggy now but was pretty foine back in the day don't you judge me okay just look at his face it's pretty nice no seriously I mean it I stan for Tommy Lee Jones and I'm not ashamed too much.
What political issue stirred you the most?

I was so sad to learn that Caroline John and Mary Tamm, two great Doctor Who actresses, had passed away this year.
