I worked in concessions today. I got a $10 iTunes gift card from a random customer guy, $5 cash from a big flashy Filipino family w/ their Ed Hardy shirts and Louis Vuitton purses and glittery makeup, and a quarter from another guy's change.
I was really skeptical about the card. I was instantly dumbfounded when he gave it to me. The guy took my dumbfounded-ness to be not understanding what the card was for so he told me it was an iTunes gift card. I was just dumbfounded he even gave it to me in the first place. I thought maybe he was playing a prank on me and giving me an empty card, but I checked it and the whole 10 was there. Huh.
The mom was so thankful that her son's ArcLight membership gave her a discount that she said she wanted to give me a tip. It was funny to see them bicker amongst each other at the counter. It's always funny for me to see other Filipino families. It reminds me of my own.
