Okay, so it's a little late to be doing this, but New Year's was only a few days ago, so I feel it's well within reason!
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Went to the gym CONSISTENTLY. Not as consistently as I would have hoped, but for once in my life, I wasn't like, "Okay! We're going to the gym now!" and then not do it for months and months. I was very proud of myself ^_^
2. Did you keep your New Years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well, I wanted to be 150 by the end of the year, but that didn't happen. I'm hoping I'm still in the 170s by the time school starts heh heh...but I don't think I am. *sigh* My new resolution? Be at my ultimate goal weight by the end of this year! w00t!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not in 2007, no.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My aunt did on New Year's Day 2007. That was really hard.
5. What countries did you visit?
none
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More time for myself to accomplish the goals I want in terms of weight loss, recreation and reflection. So far, so good! *knock on wood*
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
Dec. 31, 2007 b/c that night was just insane in the membrane.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being 177.4 in December! I was sooo essited.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not meeting my goal weight. I don't look at it as a failure so much as a "Man, I wish I really had gotten what I wanted..."
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not that I can remember...
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My emerald ring and my jade ring as my present to myself for making it through the summer. Oh! Any my mp3 player I bought for making it through the spring of hell!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Hmm...not sure about that one.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Oh, lots of people...like seeing skinny bitches wearing short shorts to gym classes. Floor exercises, people!! Geez...but yeah. Made me appalled and depressed (I wanted to be able to do that, too! Not that I would...)
14. Where did most of your money go?
Books, credit card payments and car insurance.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Having my boy come and see me on New Year's Eve Eve ^_^ Oh, and seeing my measurements go down every month. Not a lot, but still!
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Proud by Heather Small. It's the theme song for the Biggest Loser, which has really inspired and motivated me. I discovered the show over the summer and I'm addicted!
17a. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder?
I'm both. I'm happy that my friends and family are progressing in their lives, I'm just sad that it's all coming to an end and BIG changes are gonna happen. It's bittersweet, I guess.
thinner or fatter? Thinner, but not nearly as much as I would have liked. Here's hoping Dec. of this year I don't say that!
richer or poorer? Umm...about the same. I'll be poor until I get a "real" job.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent more time with family and friends...I always wish for that.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Putting my needs after other people. I'm working on focusing on what I want for me!
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent Christmas at home with my fam, and it was sooo nice!
21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
^_^
23. How many one night stands?
pfft, c'mon now.
24. What was your favorite TV program(s)?
Biggest Loser, hands down. I also became a fan of Red Dwarf this year...it's sooo good!! I'm pissed it ends the way it does...no closure!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not really.
26. What was the best book you read?
I would say Beloved by Toni Morrison b/c it's the first book I've ever read during my college career that wasn't assigned, and I did it all on my own even w/ homework and whatnot. I hope to do more of that!
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Pandora: all thanks to Dr. Walters' class!
28. What did you want and get?
Hmm...pretty much everything, both ways, luckily.
29. What did you want and not get?
I can't remember! I try not to hold onto things like that. I did want to be at a certain weight and didn't get that, but that's okay! I'm shooting for Dec.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Pan's Labyrinth. Very good movie.
31. What did you do on your birthday?
What *did* I do on my b-day? Hmmm...It was a Saturday...Oh! I went out to the Outlet Mall w/ Sean to try and get some clothes...that didn't happen b/c they were all too small...so I ended up crying and being all sad b/c I couldn't get clothes even tho I had lost weight...then Sean told me that he likes my curves and whatnot and made me feel overall a lot better (I mean, he put up with the shopping experience in the first place let alone my upsetedness! I had to give him kudos!) and we went out to a fancy pants restauarant where I ordered surf and turf for the first time! And we came back here and watched some movies, I think.
32. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
Having my one night class *not* have been a total "I want to shoot myself in the face" experience.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Reduce, reuse, recycle until it's time to buy new!
34. What kept you sane?
My boy and my mommy. And sleep...lots of it!
35. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
Prob. Johnny Depp b/c of Pirates of the Caribbean...wait, was that this 2007 or 2006? Who knows...
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Same one as always: NCLB. GRRR!!
37. Who did you miss?
Oh god...everyone! I miss my friends, my family, my boy...I miss them regardless of whether or not they're w/ me or not. It sucks sometimes.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
One of my coworkers at the Y. He is such a fun and funny person, and he's the first person I've ever been friends with out of all the summers I've worked there!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Always take your keys with you wherever you go!! Even if you think...even if you KNOW you don't need them, take them anyway!
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Heather Small's Proud: "What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
hehehe...I hope this was interesting, at least remotely so!
