My family and I have moved house, once again. We've left Guelph for a house in Fergus, and it is a beautiful, beautiful place to live. I thought I'd update with some photos. I'm going to try to organize a bit of a housewarming sometime in the near future, so perhaps these will entice people to come and visit me. ;)

This is the front view and the front yard...

Each of the older homes in Fergus has one of these little plaques to show who the original occupant of the home was, along with their profession.

I really like the idea of living in a house that has a history.

This is the stone walkway down to the backyard, which backs on to the river. I love the little door, which goes into the root cellar.

I love all the stone... this is the embankment upon which is a raised driveway which we plan to park our Model T on...

This is the stone walkway which meanders around the yard. It makes me happy.

The back door...

The house is a walkout; the part with the open patio is actually the main floor, so that will be really awesome this summer. In fact one day this week it was warm enough to eat breakfast out on the deck...

The property backs onto the Grand River in Fergus. I'm in love with the idea - and the fact - that I can open my window or step out onto the patio and hear the sound of the river rushing by. It's swelled at the moment from the spring melt, and it flows surprisingly fast... I don't think I'd want to swim in there right now!

Campfires, anyone?

I'm in love with the kitchen. I can't wait until I have more time to do some baking, but I've already made some use of the breadmaker... Cinnamon Raisin bread, yum. :)

We've decided to turn the sun room into a craft room, and I can't wait until we get it all set up - the main attraction for me is definitely the gas fireplace which will make it nice and cozy in the winter!

The living room... it's really big and sunny. It's so strange how the furniture looks dwarfed by the size of the room and the height of the ceilings...

A view from the first-floor deck...

With the addition of a few pillows, the window sills here are just made for curling up and reading... They are seriously like 2ft wide!

... And this is my room.

The other thing that is making me really happy right now is the fact that there are hundreds of crocuses blooming in the backyard. What more can I ask for?
