Dear Mr. ********:

Thank you for contacting me regarding same-sex marriages. I welcome
your thoughts and comments on this issue.

Marriage laws have historically been the responsibility of state
governments, and I generally oppose federal government intrusion into
matters of state authority. Periodically, however, one state's action can
have serious and far-reaching implications for other states, particularly
because our Constitution requires states to give full faith and credit to
the laws of other states.

In 1996, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) defined marriage as only
between a man and a woman. I voted for this federal law, and I continue
to support it today because I believe the traditional family unit should
remain the foundation of our society. The recent decision by a narrow
majority of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court mandating same-sex
marriage threatens to overturn DOMA nationwide and effectively make that
single state's marriage policy the law of our entire country.

In response, Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) has introduced S.J. Res. 30, the
Federal Marriage Amendment, of which I am a co-sponsor. This bill would
amend the Constitution to define marriage in the United States as
consisting only of the union of a man and a woman. Currently, S.J. Res.
30 is under review by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. When this
legislation comes before the full Senate for a vote, I intend to support
its passage.

touch on any issue of concern to you.

The fourteenth amendment tells the law to recognize each citizen for full faith and credit:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

To give heterosexuals the right to marriage, and to revoke the homosexuals/Transgendered from marriage is morally wrong and illegal. To be contrary to the fourteenth amendment is to be an act of illegal grounds. Thus, you are formatting a life for heterosexuals that excludes the rights of homosexuals/transgendered/etc.

The fabric of society is not between a penis and a vagina; it stands inside each mind and heart of that society. Whether a member of this society is homo/hetero/trans/etc, it should be set that each right is protected for each member; thus standing because each member is paying and giving to the society in which that member lives in. To strike down a populus of this society will only show fascism and moral degradation.

If each member of this society goes to work, lives and breathes in this society, and pays your salary as well as any other sex, the Society in turn, should respect these individuals for their minds and contributions, not their sexual orientation. Nothing in America is traditional. This land was stolen from it's rightful owners and then dubbed a new name and slaughtered millions of innocents. And now, innocent people are being condemned again, not by their race, but by their sex and to whom they love.

Individuals are not asking for anything outlandish; They simply want their rights as human beings to love who they want and not be castrated for this action. These human beings want security that the Government supplies a man and woman of marriage. They wish for Social Security and tax cuts, and other rights the heterosexual population tends to overlook. This is all they seek, the right to love and be taken care of by the government in which they, work for, build on, and pump money into every day.

Another page to look at is, how many soldiers in Iraq are gay or lesbian? What happens to a man and woman marriage when the husband or wife dies in combat? The government pays them to be taken cared for. But if a homosexual partner is killed in combat, there is nothing the government will do for them. They died in combat for America, and America turns it's cheek and castrates them for simply being homosexual.
