Quotes from my journey through emailing lists.

To a certain emailing list, I hath posted and quoted the following. The hilarity was my referring to the divine both in singular and plural. Fuck I am so schizoid. By default, I refer to and think of the divine in the plural. I worship in plural, and the singular I use for philosophical purposes. Sometimes, however, I notice that when I refer to the Divine in plural, it's rather like translating everything I just said into Esperanto to the monotheist.

Actually, it comes from the Latin "senatus".

Next you'll be telling me like that weirdo on TempleOfSolomon that
"amen" comes from the Egyptian god "Amen." Please, for the love of
the gods, don't go there. I beg of you.

Just remember folks, every time a non-linguistic person makes an
assumption based on two similar words from two unrelated and different
languages that they MUST be related, God kills a kitten.

Please, think of the kittens.
