hester_prynne: do you guys want to have a story time?
Heeroh: yes
Marshplank nods at Hester
hester_prynne: if you like I will tell you the epic tale of my quest for the Otter Pops
hester_prynne: this began long, long ago, in an age now shrouded in darkness. It was 1995.
Umma: Otter pops!
Elocyn: otter pops rock
hester_prynne: It was a day when the grocery stores were supplied plentifully with Otter Pops, the best frozen treat known to mankind.
hester_prynne: but one day, the Otter Pops were suddenly discontinued. A storm of discontent settled on the land, and on me in general.
Marshplank: i wish i knew what an otter pop was...
Marshplank: but maybe one day...
hester_prynne: Discouraged, I searched far and wide, from Meijer on the north side of Grand Rapids, to Meijer on the South east side, but to no avail.
hester_prynne: the Otter Pops had utterly vanished. We had but one package left with which to last us the rest of our forlorn, forsaken, Otter Popless lives.
Elocyn opens her eyes really wide in interest
xThatBoy: then a new brand called " Nestle" appeared!
Elocyn: an otter pop is a plastic tube full of sugary flavoed water that when frozen, can be eaten from the tube
hester_prynne: and then, my best friend Julie who was very wise and astute, so wise she always beat me in chess games by turning on the TV to distract my attention, noticed something.
dvmApRezSON: So it's water ice?
hester_prynne: there was an address on the back of the last Otter Pop package. Though hope was almost gone, we wrote a letter. It was a missive bereft of hope.
dvmApRezSON: If you're from the philly area, otherwise, italian ice, heh heh heh.
hester_prynne: but it also enclosed $10 and requested more Otter Pops by mail.
Cricket McGee fondly remembers Little Orphan Orange
hester_prynne: We waited a long time. Until... at least 1996, because verily we hadst started 11th grade by the time a response came.
hester_prynne: but come it did, and enclosed was a t-shirt with the Otter Pops logo on it, and, yay verily, we did witness the return of the $10 as well, along with a letter stating that Otter Pops had forsaken
hester_prynne: the frozen regions of Michigan.
hester_prynne: instead they had travelled to more magical lands such as "California" and "Arizona." And apparently Colorado, which is where I now live, and where I happily discovered Otter Pops not an hour ago.
xThatBoy: Michigan, isn't that a farm?
hester_prynne: so yes, my friends, my tale doth end happily, with sugared frozen ice water for all.
BelDred loves happy endings! *sniffle*
Cricket McGee stands and applauds for hester's heartwarming story
Elocyn: i can eat probably a million or so otter pops
Marshplank: what a lovely story Hester! that's set me up nicely for bed :)
TurtleJim: but..but..the t=shirt! tell us you still have the t-shirt 0_o
Umma: That's very strange... I wonder why they would discontinue just in certain states?
Elocyn: the tricky part is having a pair of scissors on hand so that you dont have to gnaw and chew the end off
hester_prynne: TurtleJim, the t-shirt hath been lost in the untamed regions of my parents' basement
hester_prynne: but some day legend tells of a time it will return to being worn on my torso.
