Okay, seriously, I love Numb3rs, and they (the writers) usually have a pretty good grasp on the science-y bits of the show, but on this week's episode (Devil Girl, [6x13])? Not so much.

( *sigh* )

Maybe the writers think that the viewers are too stupid to catch their mistake. Or they could be lazy and not care.

That's entirely possible. As I said, I'm a science and history geek, which isn't probably the best combo for suspension of disbelief when it comes to things like this. It's just one of those little things. I guess the whole idea that since haemophilia isn't one of those diseases that's talked about on a regular basis, they decided to take a little creative license with it.

Some people are so ill-educated as to believe anything. I wouldn't call you a geek. You're just well-educated.

Do you have a favorite period/specialty in history? Do you have a favorite historian? I reccommend Paul Johnson highly. He's erudite and fun to read. The Offshore Islanders (History of England) impressed this American very much.

Gertrude Himmelfarb is also excellent.

Heh, thanks, but, no, I'm a proud geek. I don't mind being called that. ^^

As for history, I suppose I've always loved Ancient Egypt, but the story of the Romanovs has fascinated me as well. I also love mythology; mainly cryptozoology, but the various pantheons of gods and goddesses are interesting to me as well. Really, I'll watch most anything that's on the History and/or Discovery channel. A few weeks ago I was watching a special on the Valentine's Day Massacre of all things. The Twenties, Forties, and Fifties are some of my favorite "modern" periods.
