I had a pretty good week. The only dark spot was a busy night I had at work on Wednesday, but that's over with so I'm letting it go.
I'm also resolving the issues I have with my coffeehouse friends. I still go there, but I try not to get involved with any of their drama. So far I've met with success.
One of the good (and really interesting) things about this week was Tuesday. It was the same old Tuesday, except I got a call from a guy I knew in high school (and kind of had a crush on back in the day). We had planned on Saturday via Facebook that we would meet up, but I didn't think he'd actually follow through. Before I met up with him, I was in a state of near panic. He still had the affect on me that he had when we were in high school, and I was anxious about what I would say and what we would talk about.
It was funny though, the second I saw him all my anxiety just sort of melted away. We got lunch, talked about school, and all in all it was really nice. I don't like him the way I did in high school, but he's a nice guy and I'm glad we hung out. I think I'm really starting to make friends outside of my one intimate circle.
I'm a fan of Thursdays in general because I get to have both of my English classes, but also because I get to sit with the same guy in those two English classes. He's awesome, here's why:
Almost all of the guys I know right now are the nerdy types. I have absolutely no problem with that, but it kind of starts to get dull when all they can talk about is the latest Pokemon game or WoW. Also, because most of these guys are from the same group of people (again, the coffeehouse folk), they tend to start to run together. They're all very similar, and even though there's nothing wrong with that, it gets boring.
This guy from my English class is remarkably and refreshingly different, but he's still a nerd boy! Today, we talked about literature, apartment life, anime, writing...it was great. It felt so good to talk to someone I don't already know well. He makes me want to do things, get up off my ass and start my life. And he makes me smile with my whole face.
