Midterms and simple lessons

Oct 29, 2009 00:32

I have learned these things over my past three years in college:

1. Even if you're afraid of something new, try it anyway. It usually won't kill you.

2. Get enough sleep, but set two alarms.

3. The generic brand may be cheaper, but it isn't always better.

4. It's hard to let go of things.

5. Do not try to cool down a hot ceramic plate by pouring cold water on it, but if you do, videotape it because the effect is pretty cool.

6. Storage containers are not stepping stools.

7. Get out, meet people, make friends.

8. Parents do not want you to starve, make use of this.

I'm trying to write my midterm that's due tomorrow, but it totally isn't going to happen. Not only am I monumentally distracted by the internet, I just gave up a night of fun with some awesome friends and a guy I'd like to pretend I no longer have feelings for. Damn those blue eyes. And damn my chronic procrastination, I should have been done already.

9. Make use of the time you have.

10. Some things were not meant to be microwaved.

11. Wash socks often.

12. Everything is more fun at 1am.

Wow, I'm actually making progress on my midterm. I think I just need to keep writing and stop thinking and I might actually get to sleep tonight.

13. Celebrate the little things, sometimes they are all you have.

14. Keep your head up.

One essay done, two to go.
