Ok so I know I've been needing to update, so I shall tell you about Walmart! I watched a documentary on it on Thursday. It was called The High Cost of Low Prices.
Some interesting (and troubling) facts.
*Over 50% of Walmart employees can't afford their own health benefits
*Managers are able to get employees to work overtime without extra pay. The extra hours are often deleted from the records.
*Employers actually ask some of their workers to go on welfare.
*Their products are made in factories overseas where workers are paid $3 a day for roughly 15 hours of work.
*Walmart workers donated 5 million dollars to a fund to help their own colleages, the Waltons (Walmart owners) donated 6 thousand dollars.
Thats all I will say for now, but I never knew some of these conditions existed. I know that there are other sides of information, but this one was unbelievable. If I've peaked your interest, go check out the DVD.
