MY VIP EXPERIENCE!!!
ok guys, i'm really going to attempt to not ramble through this hehe. which may be tough, cuz that's what i do :)
anyway, first of all, i attempted to go to sleep at around 3am and i was exhausted. however, i'm not even sure that i slept at all. i gave up and got up at 8am. i think i may have slept a little, but it seriously feels like i was laying in bed for 5 hours. ughhh... hehe... (that may have been the happiest "ughhh" i've ever "ughhhed" hehehehe... ok really, shut up...
and um, yeah, the whole story is REALLY long... but suck it up. you love me. heheh :)
Unfortunately we didn't end up taking a pre-show pic. meghan couldn't find her camera and mine was beyond dead, so no hot ange pic :) so anyway, we headed up to tampa and parked and then went to Beef o' brady's. i was soo very not hungry, but decided it was important to feed myself. so i ate 2 1/2 chicken fingers out of the 5 they gave me. ah well, i tried hehe.
so then we crossed the street and looked around for people to sell our tickets to. yeah... it REALLY sucks because they cut the ticket prices down to $10! so there were no scalpers and no one was gonna pay $35 for tickets they could get for $10. sooo we had to suck it up and pay for those too. i am now very officially broke. but i'm really not complaining...
so we found where we were supposed to meet and proceeded to sweat profusely for what felt like a really damn long time... Jake (our on-site host, as he called himself) showed up late, but finally we went inside, up the stairs, and into this big room which was apparently the kitchen/buffet area. so then i totally start getting really nervous. and i tend to chatter a lot when that happens. hehe. so we made friends pretty quickly hehe. they told us to go ahead and have a seat cuz they'd be a while...
i said to meghan, "do you have any tranquilizers?" and the guy next to me was like, "well..." haha so that was pretty funny...
my hands were shaking really badly already and the girl in front of us was like, just hold onto something it makes it better. which it actually did! i'm so glad they gave us time to cool down cuz we all felt gross. so we were sweat-free by the time they came out hehe...
so finally Jake says, "i just got word that they're on their way down, so it'll be about 2 minutes." eeeeeee!!!!
so, the first person i see is ben. and then i have no idea who i saw next... they like came through the kitchen but then went out that doorway and then came through a different door, it was rather odd... so mike came in, then kilmore, and then brandon and ben and jose... so i'm like, holy crap, they're actually right there! and everyone seemed fairly real except brandon. i was like, ok, brandon is seriously standing only FEET away from me! it was really surreal i guess.
we were about midway through the line, so we got to just stare at them for a while and soak it all in. meghan was getting all excited and chattery too which was funny because she usually doesn't get like that! but she was making me all crazy! haha... she kept saying all these things i could do to attack brandon and such. this is the way meghan is of course, her and her dirty self hehehe... so i'm like "MEGHAN! STOP!!!" haha... i couldn't handle that sort of thing when they're right there! hahaha... oh! the best thing we came up with was that i'd be like, "oh no! i dropped something! can you help me look for it?" and then i'd go under the table and then pull brandon under too hahahahahaha... man, too funny...
so there were huge windows across the entire wall on our right side, so we got to watch the people out there. there was a band playing outside, no idea who they were, but this one kid was dancing his ass off! it was hysterical...
SO! here comes the good part! hehehe...
so, mike was first. he says "hi, i'm mike." and i think he said, how are you, or something... so i probably said good, and then i'm like, oh yeah, this is where i say who i am! hahah... so i said, "hi! i'm angela!" and we shook hands. hehe. i seriously can't remember everything we all said, so i'll just do what i can here hehe... so i said, "i have a drawing for you" and i gave him my bjork drawing. and he was like, 'cool!" or something ha. so he wrote on my card thingy (that jose designed) "Angela, thanks for your drawing!"... and i feel like we talked more than that, but i really can't remember...
next was Kilmore. he shook my hand and said, "hi i'm chris!" and i introduced myself. i really didn't have anything to say to him... yeah i had no idea what to talk to him about... so i look over to my right, and i see that kid still dancing outside, but now he's pulled his shirt up and is slapping his stomach and looking like he's gonna do the limbo or something... so i go, "that kid is playing the stomach!" and brandon goes, "huh?!" jumps up and goes over to the window! and kilmore and mike both laughed at what i'd said hehehe!... so i was like, ok, brandon just heard words that came out of my mouth, and it made him do something! hahaha! gah, he was so damn cute. kilmore wrote to me, "angela! have fun tonight!" so then brandon came back and introduced himself and shook my hand and i did the same. so i said, "i have a drawing for you of Ani because i know you like her" and he took it and goes, "you drew this?!" and i'm like yeah :) and he says 'wow' or something... and then i gave him the drawing of him, and so at this point he's looking at me while i'm telling him hehe, and i managed to keep talking! yay me! haha... so i said, "you know those scrapbooks they gave you in CA? this was what i put in." he says, "you were in that?!" and i said yes. and he goes, "that's awesome!" hehehe... and he said, "thanks!" and i responded with the clever, "Thanks!" and then i thought to myself, hmm, i'm pretty sure i was supposed to say you're welcome there. hehe. ah well. he deserves to be thanked more than i do :) hehe. oh oh! so he wrote to me "Keep creating like you do, angela!" EEEE! *tear* so happy!
so then it was on to ben. shook hands, introductions, and he got to signing my card. i said, "i'm SO glad you joined the band." and my words weren't coming to me very well anymore, so i think i said, "you guys just... belong together... you can tell just by looking at you" or some nonsense. and he was really excited by that :) he was like, "awesome! well, i'm having fun!" yay ben! :) and then there was jose. (which i seriously wrote hose just then ha.) he was quite a let down i must say! i don't know if he was not into it yesterday, or if he's always like that... he's just so goofy and funny all the time, i thought he'd be awesome. but he wasn't really there. he was talking to their big bouncerish type guy. i don't know what job he does, but whatever. so i'm just standing there like, um yeah... so he finally shook my hand and introduced himself. he asked me how i was and i said, good. and then he "drew" his name on my card thingy. haha. he was quite artistic about the whole thing :) so i told him his design (of the card) was awesome. he didn't say anything back. and then i was done, meghan still was going through the line, so i waited for her by jose. the big guy then decided to talk to me, and i'm like, ok don't think you're signing this too haha. so then we went back to where we'd been sitting. and just soaked it all in. woo! i was like, ok, i shook brandon's hand, and i don't even remember it. haha. but yay, they were so awesome. i freakin' love mikey. he's so awesome! he's definitely the most outgoing of the group, which was surprising to me.
well here's meg's experience thru the line... meghan said that she didn't really talk to brandon. she did such a good job! i was kinda jealous! haha... she comes across as very calm and cool. and i'm like yeah, i'm struggling to use words haha. she talked to mikey for quite a bit which was awesome. and i was in on that smiling and nodding and he was kinda talking to us both. and so then since i had talked to brandon for a while, meghan was at kilmore (ha, like they're stations.) and she asked him the best question ever hahaha.... do you all remember the cartoon Doug? everytime we hear battlestar, during the part that goes, 'he cuts the music with so much class' meghan says, " i SWEAR that's roger from Doug!" hahaha... so she asked kilmore what it was! haha. and he said, "actually everything in that song is the guys. that's actually mike!' hahahhaha. we listened to it when we came home and it definitely sounds like him now haha. so i don't think she really said anything to brandon. i can't remember what she said to ben. i think she told him she was glad he's in the band. and she told jose that her boyfriend is a drummer as well and that he says he's awesome. i don't remember jose actually responding... hmm...
so they got through everyone, and before they'd shown up, we got cards telling us which group we'd be in for the photos. we got group 3. we were in a group with this girl and her bf who we'd been talking to the whole time, and with these two girls, one of which was apparently also in love with brandon. we were talking about how proud of ourselves we were :) so anyway, group 2 is taking their picture... the big guy says, "ok group 3 up here." so i immediately move to exactly where he is. then group 2 is done, but saying their goodbyes. so i'm like inching up hehe. and he says we can go ahead and get into the pic. so i like dart up to brandon hehe. and i don't even think he saw me there at first. then he turns and sees me and i'm like, 'hi :)" hehe...
and the other girl in love with brandon was standing right in front of me. i'm like, uh oh. but she moved to the other side of brandon and i guess she asked to stand there, and he goes, 'sure' and she says, 'it'd mean a lot to me' awwwww! i was like that's so cute! hehehe. so we were very happy girls :)
so then...
brandon puts his arm around me. WOOOOO. and i put my arm around him WOOOO! *sigh* it was beautiful. i could have done that for hours. he had such a lovely waist area hahahhaa... he's so skinny hehe. too freakin' adorable. yeah. i'll move on now...
so they take 2 pictures and i think it was like AS we're taking the 2nd one, brandon goes, "someone grabbed my ass!" hahahahhahahah... and i SWEAR he'd said, 'someone GRAB my ass" and i was like uhhh... hahaha. lucky for him i'm not brave. haha. and actually lucky for him he doesn't HAVE an ass...
so then he grabs his ass and goes, "i feel violated!" hahaha... so the other girl was like, it wasn't me! and it obviously wasn't me hehe. so come to find out it was the one girl's boyfriend! haha. he's like, 'man, seriously, i didn't mean to!' hahhaha... it was hilarious.
so then *sigh* it was time to say goodbye. i suppose me and brandon said something but i can't remember. so he puts his hand out, and i'm like, "can i get a hug from you?" and so we hugged :D tee hee... i'm surprised i let him go! haha. woo. so i said, 'you guys are awesome' or 'great' or something cuz that's all that came to my head. and i said, 'this is the 5th or 6th time i've seen you, i can't even remember' hehe. well... and i guess he said awesome or good or i don't even know. haha... so then i started to go to the exit and mike came up and gave me a hug! he's so cute! and let me tell you he is freakin' TINY! people weren't kidding! i had to lean down to hug him! hahahha... and i'm only 5'5! hahaha... so then meghan caught up with me and we said bye to ben and we left.

i am SOOOOOOOOOO happy. i couldn't ask for more. although, i wish i rememeberd the stuff i'd planned to say to them! we both kept going, "ah! i forgot to say...." all night! haha. but oh well. we did well and i'm proud of us! hehe.
so then we headed to our seats. and holy freakin crap they were great! the place was smaller than i expected i guess. i don't know though. there was absolutely NO ONE in the upper sections. which was rather depressing. but i'm SO glad we ended up getting VIP because we would've been sitting up there alone! gahhh! our seats were right to the left of the stage (the band's right). we were so freakin' close. that was the closest i've ever seen them... so anyway, ben kweller was playing already when we got to our seats and meghan was enjoying that cuz she just became a fan over the summer.
oh! and i'd joked previously about how they'd all shook my hand, so i said something about licking my hand. i was just kidding at the time. haha... so during ben kweller it was pretty dark and meghan goes, "no one can see you, you can lick your hand now." and i did. haha. like, instinctually. hahah. she cracked up. oh so, before ben kweller's last song, he said he'd be out at the merchandise thing if anyone wanted to hang out in between sets! so meghan went and met him! and he signed her cd :) she gave it to him to sign and he wrote "Ben K." and she said, "i enjoyed the set!" and he immediately drew 2 hearts under his name! how cute is that!? haha... so she was terribly excited that she met and talked to everyone playing that night!
so then incubus finally came on. they opened with pistola which is meghan's favorite song from a crow left of the murder.
the second song was nice to know you. i love that song. i was singing my ass off... and i SWEAR to god, i almost cried TWICE during that song! i have NEVER had that happen before. i've never understood how people can cry at concerts. but i think it all just came together and brandon was singing "i haven't felt the way i feel today in so long" and it just got to me! i never actually cried, but i swear i thought i was going to.
i can't remember the order of the other songs, but they played these:
pistola, nice to know you, just a phase (woo!), idiot box (before this song started, they made sounds preparing for the song, and i said to meghan, "this sounds S.C.I.E.N.C.E-y"... and then brandon goes, "you guys know of an album called S.C.I.E.N.C.E" and i'm like, yeah, damn i'm good :) hehe...), Priceless (which was AWESOME live. i freakin' loved it! gahh!), Sick Sad Little World (wonderful of course! i love that song!), Nowhere Fast, Drive remix (which was good), Stellar (and they did that damn "do do do da da da" song. guhhh. i hate the police" they did it partway through stellar. people thought it was awesome, so i gave it a chance, but i'm sorry, it just ruined stellar. that song is too beautiful to be ruined with do do do da da da... rahhh...oh and brandon dedicated stellar to 'everyone in love'...), here in my room (*sigh*) circles (which meg identified before me! ha!), wish you were here (which got the most crowd reaction of course. blah. i don't get it.), VITAMIN (which was THE BEST EVER! oh my god. i think they've played that every time i've seen them, and that was BY FAR the best they've done it! amazing.), made for tv movie, megalomaniac, and for the encore they played uhhh, why can't i remember? pantomime (which was great!), southern girl, and make yourself (! which was awesome because they've been playing under my umbrella). also brandon played the damn spongebob theme. ugh. it was really cute though, despite how much i hate spongebob. he cracked himself up too. he had to stop when he was done and finish laughing so he could play pantomime.
brandon played 3 songs on guitar! i was so proud! eeee!
OH i remember what else i said to mike! i told him how excited i was that he's playing piano because i've played for 15 years. and he goes "aw, you're probably like, he sucks!" and i'm like NOOO! you're good! and meg goes, "yeah! she's really excited!" and i said, "yeah! i'm excited!" hehe...
so it was a freakin' amazing night. i couldn't be happier.
our group pic will be up in "4-5 business days" which REALLY sucks because we have the weekend in the middle of that! rahh! it's going to feel like SOOOO long! i can't wait to see it! cuz i have no idea what faces anyone is making in the whole thing haha. i hope brandon's not making a funny face! cuz he does that. hehe. oh boy oh boy :)

so then incubus finally came on. they opened with pistola which is meghan's favorite song from a crow left of the murder.
the second song was nice to know you. i love that song. i was singing my ass off... and i SWEAR to god, i almost cried TWICE during that song! i have NEVER had that happen before. i've never understood how people can cry at concerts. but i think it all just came together and brandon was singing "i haven't felt the way i feel today in so long" and it just got to me! i never actually cried, but i swear i thought i was going to.
i can't remember the order of the other songs, but they played these:
pistola, nice to know you, just a phase (woo!), idiot box (before this song started, they made sounds preparing for the song, and i said to meghan, "this sounds S.C.I.E.N.C.E-y"... and then brandon goes, "you guys know of an album called S.C.I.E.N.C.E" and i'm like, yeah, damn i'm good :) hehe...), Priceless (which was AWESOME live. i freakin' loved it! gahh!), Sick Sad Little World (wonderful of course! i love that song!), Nowhere Fast, Drive remix (which was good), Stellar (and they did that damn "do do do da da da" song. guhhh. i hate the police" they did it partway through stellar. people thought it was awesome, so i gave it a chance, but i'm sorry, it just ruined stellar. that song is too beautiful to be ruined with do do do da da da... rahhh...oh and brandon dedicated stellar to 'everyone in love'...), here in my room (*sigh*) circles (which meg identified before me! ha!), wish you were here (which got the most crowd reaction of course. blah. i don't get it.), VITAMIN (which was THE BEST EVER! oh my god. i think they've played that every time i've seen them, and that was BY FAR the best they've done it! amazing.), made for tv movie, megalomaniac, and for the encore they played uhhh, why can't i remember? pantomime (which was great!), southern girl, and make yourself (! which was awesome because they've been playing under my umbrella). also brandon played the damn spongebob theme. ugh. it was really cute though, despite how much i hate spongebob. he cracked himself up too. he had to stop when he was done and finish laughing so he could play pantomime.
brandon played 3 songs on guitar! i was so proud! eeee!
OH i remember what else i said to mike! i told him how excited i was that he's playing piano because i've played for 15 years. and he goes "aw, you're probably like, he sucks!" and i'm like NOOO! you're good! and meg goes, "yeah! she's really excited!" and i said, "yeah! i'm excited!" hehe...
so it was a freakin' amazing night. i couldn't be happier.
our group pic will be up in "4-5 business days" which REALLY sucks because we have the weekend in the middle of that! rahh! it's going to feel like SOOOO long! i can't wait to see it! cuz i have no idea what faces anyone is making in the whole thing haha. i hope brandon's not making a funny face! cuz he does that. hehe. oh boy oh boy :)
