What a week! It started last Sunday when I worked all day -- accomplished a heckuva lot, actually, and that felt really good on Monday morning when I walked into my office to see an actual desk and [gasp!] floor. Three piles gone. Two more and a basket to take care of yet. But of course more started falling in the door every time it opened, and by the end of the week, the piles were well on their way to being replaced. Probably a good thing. The floor hasn't been vacuumed in probably a year. At least the piles anchor the dust.
I only made it to the gym twice. In consequence, I dreamed last night that I stepped on a scale in front of several of my friends, and weighed 234 pounds! Ye gods an' wee fishes! I'll go this week, believe me. I can see (or I could before I blew off the gym all those evenings) that I was losing weight, because I was losing it all in one spot -- my breast. Or maybe the prosthesis on the other side is growing, it's hard to tell. I keep wondering what a pinhole would do to it.
I registered for the Race for the Cure in May. I'm nervous about my foot acting up (the neuropathy gets very painful sometimes), but I'm going to do the 5k if I have to crawl it :P On that note, please feel free to pledge some spare coins on my behalf and on behalf of women (and 10% of men) everywhere by clicking
here. I actually went out and replaced my camera last weekend. Haven't even charged it yet. I don't know why I'm reluctant to do that, but I need to get it going 'cause I need to take quilt pictures. THIS weekend I went out and replaced my cellphone which decided to die a hard death, taking all my phone numbers with it. [sigh]
I picked my fabric for a way cool block-of-the-month type of quilt, too. It's called
Ramblin' Rose Meets Jamestown and is in commemoration of the founding of Jamestown 400 years ago. And I got fabric for my mom a lap quilt, that she's been asking for for nearly a year now .. lovely purples that grade from dark to light.
Jame and I went to see "300" -- it rocked! We saw "Wild Hogs" last week, and I laughed myself silly at those guys my age. Jame thought I was nuts, of course. [grin] Hey, I like watching men my age!
And I have rhubarb coming up like little phallic symbols all over one end of the front garden, with lilies and iris crowding out the daffodils in the side bed (I thought I got all those daffodil bulbs outta there!) and peonies opposite the rhubarb, blooms on the hellebore, the rose draping itself all across the front of the house, and several other perennials peeking through. Not to mention the faery-footstep violets all over the back yard. I love spring.
Work sucks.
I have another baby quilt almost done.
And I'm all talked out. Pity.
