Spooky night before Halloween

So, we live next to a wetland, and last night around 2 there were these ghosty animal sounds I don't think I've heard before. They sounded almost like a voice, but not quite, and I don't think it was people because they sounded very natural and not at all ostentatious like someone doing something for attention. It's kind of nice to hear some spooky mysterious sounds of nature again. In the summer there are peepers and I think some kind of rubber band lives there.

I also got a Halloween themed fortune cookie that said I would inherit money or a small piece of land soon! Who thought that would be a good one?
