Gotta love the FTA's (or whatever their acronym is) timing. They waited until my flight had just finished boarding to pass word that there was a stand down on all flight going to both New York and Newark airports. At least my flight wasn't crowded and I was able to sprawl over all three seats for the extra hour I had to wait before we were allowed to take off.
